We are seeking a bioinformatician for a role on our computational biology team, to help analyze Kallyope’s growing transcriptomics datasets in pursuit of novel drug targets that modulate the gut-brain axis. The successful candidate will work closely with experimental scientists to incorporate new data (from in-house experiments and public datasets) into our platform and apply methods for data visualization, statistical analysis, clustering, differential gene expression, elimination of technical artifacts, and knowledge base queries. Candidates for this role should have familiarity with next-generation sequencing data and have strong computational skills. Our team culture emphasizes collaboration, humility, and a can-do spirit.

  • Work interactively with team members to assess the gene expression, biochemical function, and disease relevance of prospective drug targets
  • Preprocess and add new transcriptomics and other datasets into the platform, and transform public datasets for compatibility with our pipeline
  • Test the performance of software tools and the reproducibility of data analyses
  • Implement diagnostics to troubleshoot the development of novel experimental technologies
  • Contribute to UI and web development to expose our analyses to others within the company
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in relevant bioinformatics methods, particularly in the domains of RNA sequencing
