JOB SUMMARY

The Brain Disorders Research Associate will be a member of a team charged with establishing in vivo and in vitro models of brain disorders and testing novel therapeutics in these models. Candidates must be highly motivated with previous experience in mouse handling, stereotaxic surgery, histology, and microscopy techniques. Successful candidates must be able to work effectively both in a collaborative setting and independently while possessing outstanding written, visual and oral communications skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stereotaxic injections
  • Isolation and purification of neurons
  • Histological processing (Immunohistochemistry, In situ hybridization)
  • Image acquisition of tissue specimens

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters in Biology or Neuroscience
  • Experience working with experimental mouse models
  • Experience with histology
  • Experience with stereotaxic injections

Additional preferred experience includes:

  • Experience working in neuroscience
  • Molecular biology experience including ELISA and PCR
  • Experience working with viral vectors
