JOB SUMMARY
The Target Validation Program Scientist will be a member of the Metabolism & GI team charged with taking novel findings from the company’s platform and advancing them as drug discovery programs. Candidates should be highly motivated with previous experience in molecular biology, in vitro assays and gut biology/metabolism. Successful candidates must be able to work effectively both in a collaborative setting and independently while possessing outstanding written, visual and oral communications skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generating data packages to advance target validation programs in GI and/or metabolism disease areas
- Designing and running experiments to validate the mechanism of action for specific targets
- Analyzing novel findings from the platform and creating new target validation programs
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
You must have:
- A PhD in a biological science
- Experience with in vivo mouse models, tissue handling and in vitro systems
Additional preferred experience includes:
- Multiple years of experience in the GI and/or metabolism space
- Experience with models of GI injury (e.g. chemotherapy & radiation)
- Experience with feeding assays
