Job Summary
The Cell Biology Research Associate will be a member of the newly established Immunology and Inflammation team responsible for supporting mechanism of action type studies from a pharmacological perspective. This position will be responsible for establishing reliable read outs of cellular function and biological pathway activity in both in vitro and in vivo/ex vivo samples. Candidates should be highly motivated and comfortable with multiple types of assays and read outs with extensive hands-on experience in cell biology research. Successful candidates must be able to work effectively both in a collaborative setting and independently while possessing outstanding written, visual and oral communications skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Development, validation, and execution of assays to test compound effects on biological pathways and cellular function
- Maintenance of cell lines and primary cultures used in analysis
- Post-hoc processing of in vivo / ex vivo tissues from animal studies
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, cross-functional team
- Clearly communicate experimental results and compile data into comprehensive reports in a timely fashion
Qualifications and Education Requirements
You must have:
- A Masters degree or a Bachelor degree with 2+ years relevant research experience
- Experience imaging and analyzing reporter lines and/or immunohistochemistry in in vitro samples or animal tissues
- Mastery of molecular biology techniques, functional assay and semi-high throughput assay development
Additional preferred experience includes:
- Direct drug discovery experience a plus
- Experience with metabolic assays a plus
- Primary culture or explant culture experience preferred
